Alison Morgan has been a practicing acupuncturist and herbalist for 10 years. She has a Masters of Oriental Medicine from East West College of Natural Medicine in Florida. While in Florida, she completed a year-long internship with Dr. Shan Liang, whose Florida-based practice operates with an integrative mindset incorporating the best of Traditional Chinese Medical concepts with the knowledge of Western Medical analysis. The way that Alison practices is hugely influenced by her time with Dr. Liang, as she views health and disease through both the western and eastern lens. She has also completed an intensive training with author and whole foods nutritionist Paul Pitchford and is certified in Five Element Shiatsu.
Ms. Morgan works with patients to achieve sustainable results using acupuncture, herbal medicine, and whole food based nutritional counseling. She draws on her background in shiatsu and incorporates manual therapies like cupping, GuaSha and passive stretching when developing patient treatment strategies. Her philosophy towards healthy living is that it should be a celebration of living, not an unpleasant or arduous task. In that vein, she takes care to instill in her patients achievable and enjoyable ways to maximize their life experience through simple behavioral modification techniques such as meditation and mindfulness. Her office is located on her family’s 46-acre organic farm, affording her patients an experience that is deeply restorative.
