Sage Turkey Burgers

Great go-to autoimmune paleo protein option.

1 pound
ground turkey breast
1⁄4 cup
finely diced apple
2 tablespoons
finely minced onion
2 tablespoons
finely minced fresh sage
1⁄2 teaspoon
finely minced fresh thyme
3 tablespoons
olive oil
1⁄2 teaspoon
sea salt
1⁄2 teaspoon
freshly ground black pepper
Small Patties


In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients, but only 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Grill: make 4 patties and grill 6-8 minutes on each side to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

Pan fry: Make 8 patties. Heat a frying pan with 2 tablespoons olive oil. Brown patties 3-4 minutes on each side over medium heat, until firm to touch. Store leftovers in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator up to 5 days, or freeze.  (Recipe #743)
