Red Cabbage Sautee


4 cups
red cabbage
1 tablespoon
lemon juice
5 tablespoons
vegetable or chicken broth
2 tablespoons
ginger root (grated)
2 cloves
garlic (finely minced)
5 drops
wheat free tamari soy sauce
1 tablespoon
sesame seeds
rice vinegar (a few drops to taste)


Quarter cabbage, slice into 1/4-inch strips, and let sit for at least 5 minutes. Toss cabbage with lemon juice. 

Heat broth over medium heat in a stainless steel skillet. When broth begins to steam, add cabbage, ginger, garlic and tamari. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. 

Transfer to a bowl. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and rice vinegar to taste. 

For more flavor, toss cabbage with the Mediterranean Dressing ingredients. (Mediterranean Dressing does not need to be made separately.)   (Recipe #707)
