Brain Chips, Savory Version


1 cup
raw nuts or seeds (walnuts or almonds chopped into small bits, or sunflower kernels or pepitas)
sea salt
1⁄2 cup
coconut oil (melted)


Spread nuts and/or seeds evenly on a parchment-lined pie plate or baking tray with sides. Sprinkle with salt if desired. Pour melted coconut oil over the mixture.

Put the tray in the freezer for an hour. When the mixture has hardened, chop up the brain chips into small pieces. Store them in a jar in the freezer.

Add to any cold vegetable dish or salad. Try variations with a little bit of turmeric and cracked pepper or other spices. Also, try making this with toasted pecans or other nuts or seeds.
